On a personal note — In an effort to reduce the amount of gas (and money) I would normally use on in-town trips; running errands and such I recently joined a new wave of electric car owners.However, I won’t be commuting from Portland to Vancouver in my turquoise Xebra. The vehicles are only approved for low speed (less than 45 mph), neighborhood travel. Reactions have run the gamut from a guy who ran out of his house exclaiming, “What’s that? Where can I get one!” to a couple of enthusiastic environmentalists who insisted we were, “killing the salmon.” Viva la difference. Michelle
