New Web Site – Developing Brains: Ideas for Parenting and Education from the New Brain Science
Kathy A. Bobula, Ph.D., instructor of Early Childhood Education and Psychology at Clark College, has created a new web site, Developing Brains: Ideas for Parenting and Education from the New Brain Science. www.developingbrains.org
“This site was started as a way to bring the exciting findings of the “new brain science” to parents and teacher-caregivers of young children in a way that applies this research to how we actually interact with children and keep them safe and healthy. … My goal … is to explain brain science concepts for people who are very busy and are NOT neuroscientists.”
“Some research on adolescence has also been included. And, much of the material about the brain in this site applies to adults, too!” Includes Glossary of Terms, Blog.
There is no end to learning no matter the age, and so let’s keep going.

Very helpful website! I find the brain fascinating, and any help I can get with understanding it is welcome. I have recently been learning about how to access different parts of the brain to help you overcome what ever it is you want to overcome, bad habits, bad memories etc. Very very interesting.
First of all thank you very much for posting that information!
I’m a proud godmother of a 3 years old boy and I’m always looking for info related to kids and their development. Besides that I’m very interested in any research that helps to increase the use of our brains. Some months ago I stumbled upon at a very good book called “The High Performance Mind” by Anna Wise… a lot of changes had happened in my life since I’m applying those lessons learned there..:)
Thanks again for sharing.

I agree with Laura! Fascinating stuff, keep going!
I find fascinating the true power of our brain, and I really would like to learn more about it and how our brains operate. Extremely useful in my opinion!
Thank you for the article, esp. the website resource. It’s quite remarkable we only use a small fraction of our brain during our lifetime. I wonder what would be possible if we could break down this limitation!
Thanks for the great information about the potential of young minds. It is amazing and I am especially interested in keeping young children safe so hope to read more about that! Mags
I tend to agree – I mean, sure, it’s intrinsically interesting to find out what parts of your brain light up when you read Middlemarch, but what’s more interesting to me is how people turn all that neural firing back into language. I don’t think that linguistic phenomenon has run out of appeal.I enjoyed it.
