Find Reliable Information with Health Source – Consumer
Did you make a New Year’s resolution this year? Was it related to fitness or diet? Or maybe you’re looking for a reliable source of information about COVID-19. Whatever health topic is on your mind, Health Source – Consumer is a great place to start! Articles are written for everyday readers without a lot of technical jargon, but you can avoid the information overload of a Google search. While you will still want to evaluate the information you find, you’re much less likely to come across advertisements disguised as articles or news that’s happening so fast no one has time to verify it.
Health Source – Consumer is an EBSCO database, so you may already be familiar with how it looks and works. You’ll want to pay attention to the date of articles, which you can limit on the left side of the search results. Looking at the subjects, also listed on the left side and under each article title, can help you narrow down or modify your search to exactly the information you want to find.
Of course, if you need any help doing research for a class or your personal interests, please Ask a Librarian! Health questions can be sensitive, so know that we value your privacy and confidentiality (though we’re not health professionals and can’t give any medical advice).
