Fall Is in the Air
Pumpkin Spice Latte
It doesn’t seem possible that another summer is coming to a close. Fall is in the air, and we are entering the advent of a new school year. This transition can be exciting and stressful, balancing life, current events, and college. It’s important to prioritize taking care of yourself, finding comfort in a favorite warm beverage, and each other.
One popular fall beverage is the pumpkin spice latte. According to Matt Johnson, PhD., “The exclusive seasonality creates a mental relationship between the drink and the brain of the consumer, which transforms it from merely ‘a drink’ to a transcendent psychological experience.”

When we taste things like pumpkin spice lattes, we create memories of occasions such as time spent with family and friends. Celebrate the campus reopening and make new reminiscences by visiting the Tod and Maxine McClaskey barista in Gaiser Hall, Hanna Hall Coffee Lounge, Clark College Bookstore, and Clark Cafe in Joan Stout Hall.
Recipes for making pumpkin spice lattes and other articles about the drink can be found in the Clark College Libraries’ databases such as Academic Search Complete or ProQuest. Please see our full list of databases, or check out these articles:
