Summer Term has come to an end and the Clark College Libraries will reopen on September 25 at 8:00 am. If you are looking for something to do during your school break here is a suggestion:
Clark College Libraries have historically provided valuable resources for the Vancouver community. An esteemed education landmark, Clark College is in good company with the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. Located south of Clark College, Fort Vancouver also has a rich cultural past. Founded on the lands of Native Americans, Fort Vancouver was a fur trading post; then a military institution and aviation field. Spend time exploring the reconstructed British fur trade fort built by the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1829. Next to the fort are walking trails and the Pearson Air Museum which is one of the nation’s oldest operating airfields. The area was also the site of a World War I Spruce Mill. Located just north of the old fort are the Vancouver Barracks, established in 1849, making it the first United States Army post in the Pacific Northwest.
